Nature, french cooking, local history, beast of Gévaudan

Our guesthouse is located in a small rural and quiet village, 30mn away from A75.

Nature is here preserved. Sylvie and André will welcome you in a old farmhouse where they have renovated for well furnished bedrooms which can accomodate 1 to 12 people. 

You can be sure of a family warm and friendly welcome.

The accomodation is non smoking.  Take a great breath of fresh air and take advantage of life.

Gateway to local knowledge, the area is very beautiful.  There is plenty to do,  to explore.  Wildlifewalks, relaxing, reading in the garden, site seeing.  Ten minutes from home you have facilities for horse riding- there is an equestrian center in Saugues - playing tennis, swimming, fishing, ...

In the Gorges de l'Allier you can do water sports (30mn away). You will take country roads with beautiful views, tiny villages, castles, ...

It takes 50 minutes to go to Le Puy en Velay, that you must absolutely visit.

After a good day you can enjoy with us an evening meal at our table, on reservation. Cooking is made by Sylvie with vegetables from the garden and local products.

A substantial and tasty freshly homemade breakfast is included in the price. Hot beverage, fruits, honey, variety of breds, orangejuice, homemade yogurts, cakes and jams.

It's possible to book a picnic for lunchtime.  Our tariffs include room and breakfast.

Tourist tax is not included : 0,50€/by day/person (more from 18 years)

Table d'hôtes : for dinner you can taste Sylvie tasty specialities.

Auvergne is beautiful and unforgettable, discovery and escape, enconters of persons who live here.

Our aerea has unique landscapes : wild rivers, lakes, vast forests, green pastures where you can pick raspberries, blueberries, mushroomes,  observe animals, listen to birds,...


You may also visit castles, museums, romanesque cloisters or hillside perched chapels. 

The land offers a lot of magnificent religious building (Le Puy en Velay cathedral,  Brioude basilica, Saugues collegiale, Lavaudieu and is abbey.

If you prefer sport not far from home you can do footpaths, hiking, mountain biking, swim in the biologique bathing place of Saugues, play tennis, kayaking, raftin or caneoing in the Allier gorges. And there is a golf near Le Puy en Velay.

Taste the delicious auvergnate food : auvergne hams, "potée"stew,  "truffade" is cheese and potato, green lens from Le Puy, blueberry tart, ... 

THE BEAST OF GEVAUDAN . This beast killed more than 100 people in the region of Margeride between 1764 and 1767.

It's not a legend.

André who descent from the family of Jean Chastel (who killed the last enormous wolf) will tell you, during dinner the story of the beast.  Don't miss the Fantasy Museum of the beast of Gévaudan in Saugues.
